OK, thinking of trying the BodyForLife challenge but have questions about the diet. They say the portion sizes are the size of your hand (protien size of palm, carb size of fist) but to be honest, that goes against what is said on here for my 4000 calories a day (as in at those servings I will have a dern hard time!)..is it OK to add a little to my size of portion? Looks like a nice program, but will be doing 5-on 2-off workouts (they do upper body/lower body splits) or maybe a Mon/Tue on, wed off, thurs/fri on, sat/sun off. Any thoughts? The Mrs and I both are doing it (she is 5'4"/126..Dancer so wants to cut fat and gain ALOT of muscle) and heard good things about the program. Thanks in advance folks!!

First of all, diets are temporary and usually don't work long term. Stay away from diets that suggest the elimination of any one thing (i.e. No carbs, No fats, etc). Your body needs a balance of protein, fat, and carbs to function. What you are looking for is to change to healhty eating habits, which is what the nutrition guidelines on this website would suggest. Also, remember healthy change is not an over night process. To give any nutitional change a fair shake, you need to commit to it for at least 90 days. If you can trick your brain, to follow the guidelines nutritionally, your body will grow accustomed to the healhty change and it will become a habit. Good luck!

The BFL program works. Don't expect to look like the people in the photos inside the covers after 12 weeks! Actually that is what motivated me to living a healthier lifestyle.
To answer your question with regards to the portions, you would have to adjust them accordingly. I bet we all have different fist sizes. Just eat frequently, and you will see the results. And if you go by the food list in his book, it is the same as on here or bb1fit's "grocery list" Good luck with it and let us know your weekly success.:dumbbell::big_smile:

Nutrition..its NOT a diet, its a lifestyle..healthier eating. Heck he even TELLS you to have a cheat day a week that anything goes. We have his book, the menue is incredable and the tastes!! WOW!! Just didnt know about the portion size..and it tells you to eat 6 times a day as everyone knows to do. I dont expect to compete in 90 days, but I feel the change will be pretty crazy, I have always noticed my body responds pretty fast to things like this.
