Hello all. New to the site and just started a little over a week ago. So far I feel the weight training is great. My problem is my nutritional plan. I never meet my protein/carb target and I always seem to be right on or over my fat target. Anyone have any ideas to meet my targets? I'm not very good at this diet thing. I hate counting things!
In addition to that, I get bored at work and I want to munch on something. I feel like I always want to eat something. Any ideas.
Not to mention I have IBS and I'm lactose intolerant. So not to put any pressure on anyone but I'm sometimes limited on what I can eat.:(
Thanks for any help!!

If you tend to eat when your bored, find something to do! Go for a walk, sweep the floor, anything to break the habit. If you're actually hungry, then eat something healthy. Get rid of ALL the junk food in the house (it's what I had to finally do!) No pop, no chips no crap! As far as a nutritional plan goes, if it's driving you nuts to count, don't count. Eat well balanced, nutritionally rich foods (check out grocery list for healthy eating thumbtacked at the top of this forum) Try to have some protien, healthy carbs and healthy fats at each meal. Limit processed foods as much as possible. Try this for a few weeks and see where it takes you. If you don't see any progress, reassess what your eating and try again. make sure you're including exercise in your daily routine-especially wt training!
Good luck and welcome to FT!

ooh those are two dangerous things to do simultaneously. Do some of the things that Fly has suggested and if you have to eat, choose healthier alternatives on what to snack on. Good luck!

Thanks! At home I am ok. It is at work where I have the problem. I am starting to try the small meals every two hours which seems to be helping today. The working out is going great. I have always been athletic so that part was not hard for me. I just love food - who doesn't! I felt like I ate healthy before but when I started to try to count, I felt like what I was eating before had more fat than I thought. Even though I was eating healthy foods, I'm not the best at portion size either. Come from a family where you ate everything on your plate. Now I think I'm just going to start using a smaller plate! Thanks for the help!

kray, I started all this in October before I had much knowledge of nutrition. And the 1st thing we did was cut down on portions. I started using my kids plates for meals. At 1st it was hard, but now portion size has become easy. As a matter of fact, I feel like I'll explode if I ate like I used to eat!!
What I noticed was that even if I felt hungry after a meal, 10 minutes later I'd feel OK. And if I didn't then I'd have a healthy snack :)

My point is that was starting place for me, but in the end I had to cut the portions as well as make sure I was eating the right foods!!
