Does anyone know what the best type of bread to buy is. Can you get bread at the grocery store that is healthy or do I have to go to the health food store? I recently bought pepridge farm naturals 100% whole wheat, it looked good but I am still not sure about it. Thanks >

That was a question I also had..
I normally buy Nature's Own Healthline Light Honey Wheat.
2 Slices have 80cals, 1g sugar, 5g protein, but are high in carbs I think at 19g. How does that match up to Pepridge's?
It is found in most common grocery stores, but according to their website it is only available in the southern central to southern eastern states. http://www.naturesownbread.com

Pepperidge says 110 cal per slice Protein 4g Carb 20g Sodium 180mg Fat 2g. Mine does not sound as good as yours...

I bet the one I get does not taste as good, but I do not think it is that bad at all. Have you ever had the super low carb breads? UGH, they make regular wheat bread taste like pound cake! lol. The bread I bought tastes really good. I am just confused if it is real whole wheat. I have read that just because it says it is whole wheat doesn't mean it really is.

Almost all breads that claimed to be "100% whole wheat" were just made from wheat flour or enriched wheat flour, not whole wheat. So if you can find a bread thats primary ingredient is whole wheat go for that, but if not, I think cracked wheat is the next best choice when compared to wheat flour.

As long as it says 100% whole grain you should be ok.
