I have been working out for a few weeks now and I have noticed that I have been breaking out more often (more so on my back). They are more like little bumps or a rash. I think is is because I am sweating. This is what I do daily. Morning: take shower & wash face before work out: wash face after work out: take shower & wash face
I am just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or know how to correct it. I have never had any problems like this before so I really don't know why I have it now. Any help would be great!

Hi, I'm not sure if this would help, but I have experienced something similar to this on my back as well. It usually happens more when I'm sweating doing cardio with my back pushed against something like a recumbent bike. I usually use a moisturizing body wash like Dove because my skin tends to be very dry, but after workouts when my back and chest seem oily I use a clarifying wash on these body parts. This has eliminated my breakouts. If your rash is itchy or irritated however I would stick with the moisturizing body wash and check with a dermatologist. Good luck:) ============ Quoting from bibigirl:

I've also been getting little red bumps on my shoulders, but it seems to have gone away.

It's from the sweat during workouts..
I find that if I lay in the sun for a day.. they dry up and go away.

That's from the vitamin A in the sunlight.

I always thought sunlight helped produce vitamin D not A...

Wait, what are you saying? The skin produces vitamin D in the sun light, not A (the vit A you get from all the carrots, tomatoes etc you might be eating). The sun also activates the sebum in the skin which can give you acne.
Bibigirl, keep on washing your face twice daily, but look at the product you are using. Are they too hard to your skin? What about the cream? AND do you use make up while working out? (the skin can't breath with tons of stuff on....)

Thanks for all the help! I have changed face and body wash as soon as I saw this and it is all done with now. Thank goodness for that!

I started to break out and I read that you need to shower right away after your workout. I also started using aromotherapy soap and it seems to help a lot (green tea) and it also improves the look of my skin. Also you may want to try a toner after you wash, it deep cleanses the pores.
