You guys are Bad...shame on you.
Well that depends on a few things. First above or below the muscle, and the size of the implant. I am under the muscle. My first BA I encountered NO LIMITATIONS on any exercises. I recently (after 10 yrs) had a redo and went to the next size....at this point I have discomfort when the muscle contracts on the implant (not pain) when I do Bench Press, Push ups and Tricep dips on the bench. My Dr said it is because of the larger implant under the muscle and in time I will become accustomed to it just like I did the first time 10 yrs ago. Hope that helps. |

You're probably not going to be able to do any heavy lifting for AT LEAST three weeks......I was barely able to scrub the bathtub! Just remember to start out slowly, you will definitely have to work back into it. Oh, and get a really good supporting sportsbra, you don't want them moving around too much (it's rather uncomfortable)....besides, it's fabulous to finally see superb cleavage in the mirror! Congrats, and good luck!

Thank you so much for all your help. I'm really excited about them, I'll finally be confident without wearing a padded bra. I've been wearing padded bras since I was 16.
Thank you again, Please write me with any more info you may have. |

I got my implants in Nov. I was out of commission for 4 weeks. I couldn't do any exercises at all and then when I started back it was only limited. I still cannot do butterflys today because it feels uncomfortable. I had mine under the muscle and got a small d cup. One thing you will want to remember also. If you lay in the tanning bed or the sun without a top on PLEASE cover up your scars. They are not fully healed and will not fade for at least a year. If you do not cover the scar it will turn a dark brown and remain that way for the rest of your life. It will look like someone took a brown magic marker and marked on you. Also, it may be wise to cover up your nipples since they are really sensitive. I had to ask my ps about this before I laid in the tanning bed. I didn't want to have a melt down or anything. HA!

Don't ask how I know, but to should know that you could lose your nipple sensitivety for a while or in some cases forever. On the other hand you could have those that are super sensitive for a few months. For a lot of people it's an OK trade off. Your doctor should know all the ends and outs.

The suspense is killing me - How do you know mike?
You are right, you could lost your sensitivity especially if you get them through the nipple. Mine are real sensitive because I went underneath. They are getting better though. |

I know someone who shall remain nameless ( to prtect the inocent )who had BA a few years back and they never were the same. The could feel pain and some normal feeling but for the most part just never the same. A freind of mine got hers under instead of thru the nipple and never had those problems but she didn't like the scar she got with under becasue it was easier to see. Both looked nice with them no matter how they got them. I did hear some bad things about the thru the belly button and them not being stright and stuff. I guess if your a guy it's too easy to get carried away when it comes to boobs. Never having had BA ( I wouldn't be able to keep my hands of them, plus there would be a lot of explaning to do to a lot of people , just joking )I can't speck from the 1st person.

The scars will fade with time and my ps said that if they are not entirely gone in 9 months to a year to come into his office and he would put something on them that would make them go totally away. (Mine scars are under)

I'm not sure if the scars faded or not, we have not talked about them in a long time and I don't see them to know other wise. She's not talking bad about them, so I guess she must be happy with them. I think the only thing I every remember her saying was she wished she would have gone a little bit bigger. She'd had them for 4 or more years. Thur the nipple has had hers for around 3 years and the nipples are still not like there were... and may never be the same. I did however see a show on Discovery health the other day were a women had a new kind of BA that allowed her to adjust the size up or down for the 1st 3 months till she got the size she wanted. The injected or removed volume thru a port in bag...

I wish I had gone bigger also. The doc would not do it though because of my size. I have a small frame. He said I would have looked like Dolly Parton's little sister.
I have heard that the nipple will never look the same once it it cut on. I'm sure that is true. |

No the nipples looked fine, normal. They even look like they work like normal. Some place between there and the brain there is a break down. I belive both of them ended up with small to med size C cups. One's 5.3" so they look bigger on her. The taller of the two they just look normal. If I didn't know about the BA I would not supect her of having them. Still I feel like in a swim suit I can pick them out easier now. Once your around them for a while I think you can tell. I also remember something about one of thier doctors has a deal if you later want to go up in size and you want to come back to him it's free outside on the OR cost. Hard to beat that..... I've got to the point I like the fake ones better than the real ones........

I went and laid in the tanning bed tonight and got my ass burnt up - literally. I covered my scars up though. I don't want no brown "magic marker" marks on me.

I don't think 5"4, is short, I've always thought it was about the perfect size for a woman. Then again, I'm only 5"7.

my rib cage is only 27 inches around. I am small boned everywhere. That is why the doc said I would look off balance (LOL) if he went bigger. I am not petite, which is being short, just small but not skinny. I guess I am well proportioned everywhere.

Yes, it's about time you up loaded a picture. Also what do you use to cover up the scars in the taning bed if they are under the boob ?

Makes sense, isn't that a lot wider than the scar? How big are they or long?I guess it's that or just leave a top on. Tan lines.......... I think after a year or two you can stop covering them up. None of the people I know cover them up any more.

The scars are only about 1 in. long. A regular bandaid does the trick. I don't want to lay in it with a top on, I don't like tan lines. I like the all over body tan.

I can't belive they can do all that in a 1" opening. Noting wrong with tans lines they can be a nice change from time to time, as lnog as theres not too much difference.

Mike, when they do the implants they insert an empty pocket inside you,(like a balloon) then they fill it up with air and adjust the size by cc's. When they have the right amount of those cc's they take out the "balloon" and insert the real pocket THEN they fill it up with the saline afterward. That is why the incision is so small. Alot of people think that the doc's put the implant inside the breast with the saline already in it but they don't.

The pain was horrible. Thank Goodness for Percocets. I went under the muscle and when you cut the muscle it will be sore for awhile. I slept on the couch, on my back for 2 weeks. I couldn't lay on my sides or belly at all. I got sick from the aestheia(?) and dry heaved the day I had my surgery, that night and all the next day. You don't realize what muscles you actually use until you hurt. LOL
I had my ba on thurs. and went back to work on monday. I was very sore. I have an office job so I didn't have to do much that would hurt me. I will not lie, the pain is excruciating but well worth every bit of it. I would do it again. |

Another option people may not be aware about is to inser them under the arm....I have had mine now for going on 6 years and got them inserted under the arm behind the muscle which I agree with Halfpint is very painful I slept in a recliner for what seemed like forever because you dont realize how many chest muscles you use to get lay down and sit up. The day I came home I couldnt really move my arms because it hurt so good ol mom had to feed me for the first day or so. The next day she gave me a bath and I took off the ace bandage they put on and it felt like my boobs were in my neck which is normal because it takes a few weeks before they drop on there on but they do and they look natural. I wore a bra with no underwire in it for 6 months and had to wear it 24 hours aday and I wasnt able to sleep on my tummy for a while. A week or so passed and I could raise my arms above my head but my boobs were slowly dropping. Today my boobs are great and I am a 40 c althought some may argue and swear I am a D but I am not....they fit my frame which I am also 5'4 but big boned so they fit my body and look natural. the scars under my arms are hardly noticed because they are in the crease of my skin so after a few months I think maybe 6 I was back in the tanning bed and the beach.........I do however wear 2 bras when I run because all the bouncing makes my chest hurt...........anyway I am happy with them and they are great.........everyonce in a while I will find an exercise with the weights that will make my chest feel tight and uncomfortable but not painful.......:) -------------- you can lead the horse to the water but you can't make them drink..... ~lynnoakdale |

ladies all i can say on the subject is "as long as YOU are happy who cares what others think about them"yes they can be very painful and can even be inserted in as small as 1/2 incisions(these get filled after insertion)thier is now a cream on the market for those who can afford it that actually stimulates the nerves into working again to regain feeling in the nerves.(was created for burn victoms to help heal after skin graphs)honestly in my opinion i see the surgery as a good thing for breast cancer victoms and reconstructive surgery not really for vanity of just wanting bigger breasts.bet you thought you'd never hear a man say that did ya ladies?anyway i hope all of you ladies are healthy, happy and recover fully from the surgeries and scars.-------------- Dave "lost viking seeking Valhalla" |
