This stuff claims 16g protein per 2 rounded tbls. High % of BCAA's. Is it utilized o. k. by the body? Anyone consider it a decent supplement? It's good sprinkled on lots of stuff, cereal, salads etc. The yeast I've got comes in a fine-flake form, mixes easily unlike the powder.

Yes, brewers yeast is an excellent supplement. For many years it was a bodybuilders staple supplement along with dessicated liver.

Brewer’s yeast is a rich source of many nutrients, including protein, some B vitamins, phosphorus, and chromium. The protein content of yeast accounts for slightly more than half of its weight. (If you are vegetarian by the way, and excellent protein source).
Brewers yeast may help Diabetes, hypoglycemia, high cholesterol, eczema, nervousness, fatigue, and constipation.
I believe it is best taken on an empty stomach unless indigestion occurs; then take with food.
We used to mix it in a glass of water back in the "old days" and chug it down.

The taste is awful. Worse than the meanest protein you ever tasted. That's why I do it with tomatoe juice. Sometimes I even add blackstrap molasses. It's from the "old days" for sure, but really pure.

I think it's an aquired taste, kinda like raw clams on the half-shell, or beer, which tasted like carbonated pee to me the first time I tried it. It does taste hideous in tuna though. Yummy in milk.

Any health/whole food store. Lewis Labs(brand) is what's available where I live, seems to be a good quality product. A lot of what's out there is in a fine powder, drives you crazy trying to mix it, gets real sticky & gummy. Get the flaked form.
