I recently broke my nose, and today after visiting with the nose doctor guy, he told me that I just need time to heal, but do any strenuous activity or even jogging would cause sweating and hurt the healing process, and he told me that I should not do anything requiring lifting of more than 10lbs. for 6 weeks.
I don't think this guy knows what he is talking about. It's just my nose, i was going to give it 1 more week.
Does this make any sense??????

Yes and no. Straining can make it start bleeding again...slow down healing ETC, sweat could get it infected causeing more trouble.
A doctors first rule is "do no harm" whichis what he is doing.
It gonna be up to you what you do or don't do...i'd listen to the doc. Take a 1-3 weeks off...time off could do you some good. After that i'd just do some light work for 2 weeks or so....just to keep the muscle and stay in shape. no straining, not much sweating...after the 6 weeks i'd go back to my normal routine.
Even if you have to take 6 weks off..that won't kill you

no they didn't need to, its broken in 3 places, but by the grace of god, there was crookedness or anything so it's just kind of swollen, but ice fixes that.
I was thinking, if maybe I iced my nose before i worked out if that would prevent bleeding or trouble???????/

Ice just numbs it...and decreses blood flow for a little while.
Stop being hardheaded.
If you do work out I wouldn't do anything above 50%

Would you push yourself any less if you broke your nose during the season? I think you'd play through it.

unless your a starter...i'd take time to let it heal...other wise you may need a surgery or somthing to fix the problem if you do somthing to it, then your out longer.
