Got some brown rice, cooked it up.. blecch!! I'm used to eating white rice plain quite contentedly. This is NOT GOOD plain.
What can I do to this other than my first temptation ~ A large pat of butter?? I now have a large container of it that I cooked up to eat over the next few days, and need to find some way to treat it so I can eat it!

Wow, I love brown rice by itself. I don't put anything in it. I wish I could help.

Add in some garlic or challots. But get to like the natural way.

Brown rice is great in the morning. Put it in a bowl and heat it up in the micro with a sprinkle of Splenda, Equal whatever you use. After it is nice and warm, pour COLD milk on it, and eat it like cereal, not only is the taste good, but the cold/warm combo is fantastic!!!

All great ideas.. didn't think of having it for breakfast but it would be a nice change from oatmeal.
I love the ground beef and tomato concept as something to have for a few days at work during the week and salsa and chili sound good too.
I hear you Ivan, I'm sure it's an acquired taste. I've had it before when other people make it and liked it.. maybe that bit of flavor from some garlic or shallots was the difference and would aid in getting accustomed to it plain.

Those are good ideas. I don't have a surplus of brown rice or anything like that, but it is another option for the future.

I add beef boullion to the water when cooking my brownn rice. And yes as was said up there, seasonings and a little onion will go a long way to improve the flavor of bland foods.

I add a little olive oil to a pan, crush some garlic, add some chopped onions, and cook a little, then add some pre-cooked rice. MMMM.
