I've been trying to stay away from butter and margarine all together, but I need it for my brown rice... I'm fairly new to the whole diet scene anyway.

My diet:
1) Whey protein powder in water and a glutamine and vit C source
2) Egg white ommlette with onions/peppers and more glutamine/vit C
3) 5 oz chicken breast, brown rice and a salad
4) Snack... either apple or banna with v8 juice
5) 6 oz of chicken breast boiled or grilled with a cup of veggies
6) Another whey protein mixture

I have been reading to totaly cut out saturated fats... So I bought lite margarine, but I've read butter is better.. I'd really like some tips.

Brad

Okey since you wrote this under competition advice then this should be a pre comp diet right?!!!!!

What are your goals?

To eat some butter or margarine is okey in small portions. Just never overdo it.

Bscott-
I too had the brown rice dilemma. It tastes gritty and bland, although if steamed properly that can be amended somewhat. What I have found as an alternative to butter or margarine is to use chicken (or beef) bouillon, as per the instructions. It makes a world of difference - gives the rice a tremendous flavor. Put more in if you want a stronger flavor.

It may sound nasty, but season all works well on pasta and rice.

Sounds good... I went through my fridge looking at all the seasonings nutrion facts and found some "GOYA" brand hot sauce and added some of that to my brown rice. I will definatly try the things you guys mentioned... Thanks
