Hi
I wanted to know if and why caffeine is bad for you? I usually have decaffeinated coke and sometimes coffee but was told that caffeine is bad for you but why?

I'd have to say yes. I used to have coffee every morning. On March 10 I stopped all caffeine cold turkey. Within 12 hours I had the worst migraine I had ever had in my life. I was moody. I was having bad withdrawls.
Did an online search, and this is what I found:
Caffeine Claims:
Improves athletic performance
Increases energy
Delays fatigue
Improves fat burning
Spares muscle glycogen
Enhances body fat loss
Research Shows :
Acts as a CNS stimulant
Raises epinephrine levels
Increases alertness
Delays fatigue
May slightly spare muscle glycogen
Does not promote body fat loss
Tips and Cautions:
3-6 mg/kg of caffeine one hour prior to exercise improves overall endurance
Side effects include nausea, muscle tremor, palpitations and headache
Potentiates ephedrine side-effects (should not be taken together)
Acts as a diuretic, so adequate fluid intake is crucial

I would think...that caffeine enhances mood as well as energy , hence improved performance maybe? I dunno , mood seems as important to getting results as anything else.

Don't be poking me mister man! LOL! I'm too sore!
I know I feel a lot better mentally if I have a little caffiene. But I'm not so sure what it's doing to me physically.

I have almost given everything up, don't even think about taking my morning, afternoon and evening coffee away.
