How much coffee? I think a general recommendation is to have two glasses of water for every cup of coffee. Once cup a day - nbd, two - ok, nineteen - uh how about a glass of water.

There are no adverse effects from drinking coffee. And in some recent studies, it has been reported that coffee may have some of the same health benefits as green tea. So, drink up and enjoy. You run into problems when you start putting all of the junk in it, stick with some type of non-calorie sweetner like Splenda and make sure you drink plenty of water as well, (This should be no problem anyway)

Give me my coffee and no-one gets hurt! That's a bumper sticker on my truck. My kids put it there and Ron makes sure the coffee is brewing before I ever get out of bed. If Ron says I can have it, then it must be okay.-------------- I will lift my own weight someday!!!!! |

Flex magazine, I believe last month's issue (or maybe April, not sure) essentially suggests replacing your ephedrine-based products with good ol' tried and true, SAFE caffiene. They recommend 100-200 mg before a workout and whatever else you want throughout the day, not to exceed 800mg. One cup of coffee has about 200mg in it; I go over everyday, but it's better than the alternative (ever wake up an alligator?)-------------- --There are no versions of the truth.-- Jeff Goldblum, Jurassic Park II |

Heard on Headline News the other day that a recent study links coffee consumption with an increased ability to exercise for sustained periods if drank prior to a workout. I have about 16 oz. every morning before working out--but cut back on legs day. Really melds well with the hardcore music pumping in my ears.

That sounds very good.
I was kind of afraid that it was gonna be a bad thing to drink coffee...'cause I HAVE TO HAVE IT. |

Coffee is great. But just like most things be sure to consume it in moderation. No more the 4 cups a day. And sense caffiene is a diaretic make sure you drink a 8 oz glass of water for every cup of coffee.-------------- Justin Work hard, Play hard, Stay hard! |

Hi, i know this sounds like another bodybuilding myth but i've read in several places that coffee and creatine do not mix. In fact that the former neutralises the effects of the latter to a significant degree.
