Hello all,
I am currently tring to gain mass. I know that caffeine in the form of egcg such as green tea is good in aiding in weight loss with cardio. My question is during my mass gaining phase is it ok to take in caffeine in the form of teas (no soda here) or does that hinder your gains? I think that all came out right. Thanks for your thoughts.

Just my opinion so don't quote me because I don't use caffiene. No special reason, just don't. But the only reason it supposedly aids in weight loss I would venture to geuss is because you get all hopped up and in turn expend more calories. Therefore, I don't see why it would hinder a gain because if anything your going to work out harder. A gain or cut comes down to your diet. The caffiene probably swings both ways IMO. I know there are several others on here that do use caffiene and will be able to shed more light on it if necessary.

I use caffeine mainly for improved strength/endurance I get from it...I take 200mg caffeine with 81mg aspirin hour before workouts....works pretty well imo...it wont significantly boost your metabolism...no more than a cup of coffee...whether you gain or lose weight/fat is more related to the total caloric intake....

I drink a cup of green tea every morning. Caffeine in small doses won't hinder your progress at all.

If you use cream and sugar with your morning cup,it will increase the caffeine surge,so you can tell the guy who only drinks his black because he's a man,tell him the difference next time.

Cream and sugar contain no caffeine, you may get a little more of a sugar rush, but that's about it. What you do or don't have in your coffee has anything to do with being a man.

I drink at least 2 cups of green tea every day before working out, bulking or cutting.
