did the calf raises 2 days ago, and now I can barly walk, the upper part of my calf just before my knee. Any suggestions on how to treat this?

Don't worry too much about it. You might want to ice it but it will go away within a couple of days. Don't forget to always warm up.

If this was your first calf workout then it is very understandable that you would be having pain after your workout. I am assuming that you trained very heavy. There are many ways to deal with the pain and make it more tolerable. You can increase the blood flow to the area to help with the soreness by warmup before the workout and massage after the workout. Don't just sit around because of it, that can only make it worse. A hot bath will also help to reduce the soreness.

thanks for the input, and yes it was my first calf workout, I am still a little stiff but the pain has gone away. I won't give up though. I intend to loose this weight and get fit and toned. Thanks again

Lini, IMO there is no muscle soreness worse than sore calves! Try not to let it scare you away. Once you've done the Frankenstein lurch a couple of times your calves should adapt pretty quickly. Just ease into the weight. I haven't had any calf pain in a year until last week when I tried a new machine at the gym. WOW, two days later the pain was incredible! Had to walk all day, too. But I went back yesterday and did the same machine with a little less weight and today my calves aren't even sore. Just keep it up and I bet you'll find in a week or two you'll be having a lot less muscle soreness.
