I just joined today--excited and ready! I am 30 yr old male 5'10" 255 lbs, want to lose fat/gain muscle--nutritional plan says I should consume 4000 calories a day! There's no way that's right is it?

I don't think that is right. Mine said I should consume 2264, thats insane! Thats more then I'm eating now... Im sure 4000 is more then you are too. I recently bougth the book the Calorie King, it has calories from everything to the mixed drink you might have had to the fast food thats so easy to eat. In this book it says that the suggested calorie count for a male for weight loss is : Non-Active male: 1200-1500 and an active male: 1500-1800. Hope this helps c:

I am thinking that the type of calories that you consume is important and the type of physical activity to do to use up that fuel is just as crucial. You know aerobic vs m/s. I would love to know what you find out.
