there has been way too much talk abut this subject, and everyone is on a different level. here is a SAMPLE calculator site for those who are interested.. giving the basics of making a diet if you are into counting calories. mind you, some of the info may conflict with some things you've heard, or you may question why some things are the way they are, so post your q's here and one of the pros will explain why.

Yeah, I find calorie counting so confusing. I have stopped doing it! Even if you try and be accurate, you can't because what if, say, a banana is so many calories - what if you eat super-big bananas? thats what confused me.

im stopping too. im just going to concentrate on getting lots of protein, complex carbs (except after my workout) and healthy fats. my body needs change by day, and personally making sure i take in so many calories a day causes big fluctuations in weight and energy levels. i'm just going to listen to what my body needs.

kalanchoe, you can always weigh the banana or whatever it is you are eating.

I think calorie counting can be useful to start with, so you get an idea of how much foods contain, but once you know what you're doing it's a bit unneccessary
