I was just wondering if you guys had any hints on easy and effective ways to count calories. What if something doesn't list how many calories it has? And how do you know how many calories you have burned when you are working out?

You can search the items on the web. Also, when you mention working out are you referring to weight training or cardio

Thank you. What I meant by working out, was mostly weight training. The cardio machine in my gyms tells me, but I feel like I burn a lot more calories then it says I do. It's a very confusing thing to grasp onto.

The numbers on the readouts on cardio machines are done with formulas put into the software. Use these numbers as just a guage, a baseline if you will, and try to improve. If you went all out on your cardio session, then you did all you can do.

If you are that concerned, you can purchase a heart rate monitor that you wear as a watch(I just purchsed one but haven't used it yet). Do a search on here and find out what is a good zone, or you can use the guidelines from the cardio machine.
Also, if you take long breaks in between sets, you heart rate will go down.
