After reviewing my daily intake for the first 3-4 days on the program, I 've realized the smallest things boost my fat intake. mY limit is 27g per day. This morning I had 3 slices of ham on bread and the ham was 32g of fat alone. It's mid-afternoon and I don't know what to eat in the kitchen without going through a guilt trip. please help!!!!!

Well, simplest thing to do, cut out the ham!! Not trying to be smart, why not have cottage cheese and eggwhites for your protein source in the morning? for your lean meat proteins, opt for chicken breasts, turkey breasts, lean fish, tuna, eggwhites, etc. Ham is about as bad as it gets.

As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. You are limited only by your mental perception of it.

i have run into the same problem...i have been on the program for 3 days and i have seen that my main problem is my fat intake. i have noticed that turkey breast is low in fat and tastes good too! another tip is definately to keep cheese and mayo OFF your sandwiches! it really kills your fat intake!
if you find anything else that is low in fat but still tastes good let me know!

The fat totals are skewed here. I think EVERYONE, should get at least 30g of healthy fats, and I often go as high as 90g or more. You want to concentrate on monounsaturated fats and the omega-3 fatty acids. Good sources of fat are olive oil, flax oil, nuts, peanut butter. Check fatsforhealth.com for more info. I think the heavy fat restriction and massive carb allowance on this site is counterproductive to getting lean.

I agree with you mack. I have had several people tell me not to worry about it so much, especially at first when i am just trying to get used to eating right and often. My recommended allowance was in the 30's, but if i keep it under 50 then i am happy.

Personally, I would consume extra fat before I'd eat extra carbs - especially when looking to lose fat.

i try to keep my fat intake below a percentage of my total calories rather than count grams. as long as i'm under 30% on cheat days and an avg of 25% throughout the week i'm happy.
as for good tasting mayo replacement... try Nayonaise. it's soy mayo and has 35 calories and 3.5g fat per tablespoon. it tastes like a mix between mayo and miracle whip. just make sure it's cold before you try it because it is not as thick as mayo at room temp.
