One of my friends has been losing weight at about the same rate I am. He's gone from about 290 to 215 in about a year. The only thing is, he's been stuck in the 215 lb. area for about a month and a half. He's asking me why, and my answer is that he eats too much sugar and it's finally catching up with him. He eats those Dots and Jujyfruit type candies pretty often. I would say at least a couple boxes a week. I looked at the nutritional information on the back of a box of Dots this morning, and each serving has 34g of sugar. There are 6 servings per box, and he eats a whole box at a time. I would say that the rest of his diet is pretty normal, and the candy is his downfall. I am pretty sure this is the answer, but I need some evidence to support my theory. How does the body process sugar? How much can you safely ingest of artificial sugars? How long is the window between ingestion and conversion into fat? I have looked on this site under the fitbuddy search, and I can't seem to find an answer. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Alot of people think that if the fat content is low or none that it is a good thing to eat. but if you look at the sugar content on these low fat or no fat foods and candies they are extremely high in sugars which of course is a bad thing.

ie. my friend thinking nibs are great for him because they're 'low-fat' :)
