I always eat canned tuna or tuna in the pouch. I was wondering how canned salmon or salmon in the puch is. I like to eat things that are easy and quick to cook.

its great.. healthy fats and excellent tasting. for a quick recipe, i throw in some diced up onions and red pepper with the salmon, pan fry it until its warm, and eat it over rice.

Yeah, canned salmon is fine. Tastier in my opinion also than tuna.

you are right to have concerns over the level of toxins bio-accumulating in fish - I worked with fish and meat for a short while and if i remember correctly the SFA (UK) recommends having only two portions a week, one of which should be oily such as salmon. However, I expect most of the guys on here will be eating that a day and tell you it's fine as the toxins are mostly stored in fat. I tend to go for organic salmon although more expensive possibly contains less contaminants, I have no data or anything to back up that assumption though so I could be living a lie....

Most of the salmon found in supermarkets may not be the healthiest, even in resturants. If it is farm raised, it is not in their natural state, as farm raised is fed differently with food that can be high in inflammatory omega 6 fats. Farm raised also may well contain PCB's and dioxins. Wild salmon eat algae, which are rich in Omega 3's, so we consume the healthy fats.
