So, after doing some searching about this I found a post that said to eat low carbs for 2-3 days and then carb up for a day. The question I have, is what is considered a low amount of carbs and how many do I eat to carb up? Thanks.

Here is a good rule....
low carb days.....1/2 gr. per lb. of bodyweight
medium carb days....1-1 1/2 gr.
High carb days....2 gr.
On low carb days, make the majority of your carbs fibrous in nature for a more satiated feeling and increase your protein. On high carb days, you can lower your protein intake. But do not go crazy with crappy carbs, you should still eat clean, but take in more starches like sweet potatos.

Thanks bb1fit! That definitely helps! I don't ewally eat any crappy carbs...Most of my carb intake consists of sweet potatoes, oatmeal, some fruit, vegetable pasta.
One more question...by cutting out so many carbs, my caloric intake decreases significantly. How much should I increase my protein intake on a low carb day?

On a low carb day you want to aim for 1.5-2g. of protein per lb. of body weight.

Also a good idea is to increase your fats a bit....EFA's that is.

I should also note that those figures I gave are just barometers to use. If you are not a high carb person anyway, like me, you may not want to go as high as 2 gr. per day on your high day, maybe only 1 1/2 for instance. You will have to adjust this amount for your needs.
For instance, it is a rare day I get 200+ gr. of carbs ever, many/most folks may get 200 gr. in one meal(2 slices of bread for instance). So, adjust to your needs.
