My FT nutritional guide says I need to consume 350g carbs a day. This seems like an impossible number to reach without some sort of supplement. For example my diet today consisted of the following broken down into 5 meals.
4 Chicken Breasts
4 cups of brown rice
3 plain baked potatoes
5 servings broccoli
2 scoops whey protein
for a total of 1950 calories, 189 grams protein and 274 grams of carbohydrates (according to the labels). Doesn't this seem like too much food for one day? What else can I do to raise my carb intake without having to cram in even more food?
I have one more week to go in my 8 week program and was then planning on doing the progressive gains program. I am having second thoughts however because I can't even eat enough calories/carbs suggested in my current weight loss routine. I have never been a big eater, I got fat due to inactivity and the quality of food I ate (predominately fast food). Now that my eating is strictly healthy foods I cannot get the hang of reaching my nutritional levels.
Thanks for reading and any advice is much appreciated!

Personally I would recommend that you throw in more vegetables, salads, oatmeal for breakfast, whole wheat pasta, low fat dairy products, beans, etc. Have another look at the grocery list for a bodybuilder.
Hope that helps!

Don't shoot me if I'm wrong in suggesting this, but I was just looking at my own as well and ways to up my carbs and ran across Raisins, this is what it says.
FOOD : Fruit Calories Protein (g) Carbs (g) Fats (g)
raisins, 1 c 436 4 116 1
116 carbs per cup? Wow
Is this accurate? If so then I'm thinking that's an excellent way to go. What does everyone think?

Thanks for the input guys and gals!
The food items listed were yesterdays diet. Todays' will include pinto beans and more vegetables. My problem lies in the fact that in order to meet the recommended daily carb requirement I have to eat more than I can comfortably hold.
As far as liquids throughout the day, other than the protein shake I simply drink 1 - 1 1/2 gallons of water a day. What beveridge would you suggest to raise the carbs?
I love raisins however I think I read somewhere that they are loaded with sugar. I will have to check on that again. If you are correct about the carb count and the suagr isn't high I will definately go out and buy the industrial size box!
Thanks again for the helpful advice!
