I'm having trouble getting enough carbohydrates in my diet. My nutrition plan calls for about 200g of protein, 70g of fat, and 600g of carbs. I'm usually dead on with protein and fat, but I only average about 250g of carbs a day. How important is this? Any suggestions on boosting my carbohydrate intake?
My typical day looks like this:
-Fruit and protein shake in the morning
-protein shake after workout
-chicken breast and veggies for lunch
-tuna fish "sammich" around 2pm
-and i work at night, so i try to choose something sensible when the rest of the office orders out. usually chicken or pasta.
I was thinking about adding rice or potatoes to my diet... but that just seems like a LOT of carbs to eat. I'd have to eat a lot of rice to reach 600 grams. Any thoughts???

Add oatmeal at breakfast, brown rice at other meals.
Find a protein shake with more carbs in it, or add a banana to it.
Are you on a mass gain program? That is about 3,800 calories, right?
Hmm, I don't think I could ever get that much carbs in in a day.
Good Luck!

I'm on a progressive gains plan. But I have a pretty high metabolism... I was surprised too when the nutrition thingy spit out the figures at me. It's around 3800 cals.
Oatmeal is a good idea, and I'm definitely going to start including rice with my chicken and veggies. Thanks, asimmer!
