Is there any difference if you do cardio one time a day for 30 minutes or do it twice a day (morning/evening) for 15 minutes each?? Will you still see the same benefits?
Also, I have been reading the posts and am really confused about the cardio business. My goal is to lose about 20 pounds and go back to the weight I was about a year ago. Right now I am 5'8 and 145lbs - most of the weight is more fat than muscle. Anyway, do anyone have any suggestions on type of cardio I should do?? I am paranoid about my calves (too big) so I recently stopped the stepper (even though I liked it) because I heard it will make my calves grow...Also, if I run on an incline, will that make my calves grow?? Any way to prevent this?
I know its alot of questions, but I really appreciate your insight and help. Thanks.

I'm not an expert, but something tells me that there is a difference. personally, I would love to do 1 min. intervals 30 times a day. The goal is to reach you target heart rate for a longer period of time - I believe 20 min is optimal.
Elipticals seem to work very well for most people, I personally enjoy running. To lost weight, do a search for HIIT. As far as your claves being too big, I would worry about that later - cardio will usually work against big muscle gains.

If you will fill out your profile more people can help you. Also i am no expert either. i do know hat you need to reach your target heart rate when exercising like fsdsk says. i would do at least 30 min at a time. I have heard that in order to lose weight you need at least 30-60min of cardio 4-6x per week. and 20-30 min 3-6x to maintain your weight. Can onyone let me know if this is true.
I have been doing between 30-45 min 3-5x each week along with some light weights since Feb. 1, and I have not lost anything so now i am doing 60 min 6x per week first thing in the a.m. and then light lifting at night 3-4x per week does this sound like a good plan??
Hard work has to pay off sometime right.

I would recommend doing cardio 3x a week at 30min.

I am not an expert either, by any means, but as is the case with most training, try it both ways, and which ever one works best for your body is the one to stick with. There is no one size fits all training method, so experiment and find out what's best for you.
