10 minutes isn't long enough to improve your cardiovascular fitness level, maybe you should walk fats for 10 minutes, run for ten minutes and walk fast for 10 minutes. Your heart rate will probably be high enough for at least 20 minutes that way, 20 minutes 3 times a week is the minimum for cardiovascular fitness.
