I've read alot of info on posts and such about cardio but I wanted someones personal opinion I am WAY OVER WEIGHT! 365 6'1" what you would call morbid obese I started my cardio and found the very first night starting back, i tried and gave up a couple months ago, I could walk fast past about 1.5-2ml distance not speedwalking but what i would say a brisk walk, but getting back to my question...I've seen alot of info that says 30 mins isnt enough cardio to burn my fat stores and I do workout on the program but Do I need to increase my 3 day a week cardio I walk around my neighborhood it only honestly takes me about 20-25 minutes and its about 2.25 miles total should that be sufficient to start or should I do more cario or longer? to burn my fat stores

I have read that when you have alot of extra fat stores ...walking on an empty stomach(first thing in the morning) will help burn that off faster...this would only be the case if you have large quantities of fat stores...you'll just have to break in slowly jason...you're actually doing very well...when I first started it took me 20 min to go HALF a mile...so you are doing well...don't over think it...it will make you crazy.

Just keep gradually adding time OR intensity - so 5 minutes extra, or a little more speed. You just don't want your body to adapt to what you are doing.

There is no magic amount of time for fat loos, or magic zone for fat loss - it is all calories burned, when you up your intensity you burn more calories, and when you add time you burn more calories.

Keep working out, results will come!

Keep in mind that at being 'overweight' you will burn more calories than someone who isn't, and more fat. In fact, most everything you do will use fat at your size moreso than any other substrate.

Okay, I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but are you sure of the distance? I mean I have been doing my treadmill for about 2 months now. I'm 6' and 270. It takes me 20 minutes to do a mile, and that is doing HIIT, which means I'm running for a good portion of it. 2.2 miles in 25 minutes is a pretty fast clip. I mean, maybe you can endure running better than me, but I was just wondering.

Also, you don't mention anything about your diet. What is your intake?

I second that!

A National Gaurd friend of my says 1 requirement is to be able to run 1 mile within like 14 minutes and he did it in 12.

So if your walking and I don't care how fast your walking your not going to top that.

Go to an outdoor track Olympic size and see how long 2 laps takes you, thoughs tracks are 1/2 mile long!

On average a mile is walked in 20 minutes, and that is a normal pace.

A little discipline at the table and at the gym might help reduce that belly!

I'm confused...you're doing a hiit session on the treadmill and getting in 1 mile in 20 minutes?????But able to walk 2.2 miles in 25 minutes around your neighborhood????That's how I'm reading your post...on a side note...you can get a whole lot further a whole lot faster on a treadmill than on the ground...the treadmill is helping you move along,so you go faster and it's not as tasking.

I remeasured it again with my car and it is 2.1 miles according to my digital odometer...I walk and run like I said I run like every 3rd or 5th street light to street light and I do walk at a fast clip...not a normal pace walk And my time is based off my music play list which was 27min 32sec and had about a min left on my playlist...Don't let me mislead you I do run some of it but not long stretches probably aboyut a third of that is running/jogging...let's face it at my weight I'm not sprinting anywhere lol

Trying to gain mass you must eat more than salads. Add in some calorie dense foods...i.e...beef, peanut butter, etc. Heavy cream in your shakes.

I wouldn't be trying to gain mass at 365lbs, you said you wanted to drop weight in the first post and in your sig, do one or the other trying to do both is a setup for failure. Hit one goal, weight first at your size, then build mass. just my .02.

Your .02 is exactly correct.
