I know that cardio excercises are supposed to obviously work your heart and lungs but right now, after about 15 minutes of moderate cardio, my chest just burns like crazy and I have to take a break. I'm new to this so my heart is probably out of shape.
does it get stronger, and the burning stop? is it okay to take breaks?
thanks in advance

Yes, you're heart and lungs will get extremely stronger. Just stick with it and don't push yourself too hard at first. I think it is best to take short breaks. Once you feel this way, slow down (take it from a run to a brisk walk) and allow your breath and heart rate to come down some. Before it is back to normal though speed back up. You'll notice the positive difference in your lung and heart performance in no time, just keep it up. Good luck!

You should be watching your Heart rate while doing cardio especially if you are a begginer. the formula is this.... 220- your age then take 65% of that # and that will be your low range, and 85% will be your max. If you are a beginner, start off by staying between 65-75%. If you experience burning, pressure, tightness in your upper abdomen/chest, tell your doctor.

Slow down and let your heart get some oxygen - unless you are 'in oxygen' you are worrking too hard for a beginner.
If someone could walk up and talk to you and understand your responses, though you may ne huffing a little, you are at the higher end of your exertion level.
Rome wasn't built in a day. enjoy the process or you will burn yourself out and quit because your heart is fatigued all of the time and you don't recover.
Good Luck!

you don't want to overdo cardio. a good pace is if you are breathing heavy, but can still take a couple of breathes and be able to speak. if you are having a problem speaking while doing cardio back off a little. if your not sweating then work it more.
