Judging from your profile, basketball would not be your best choice. In order to lose the body fat, there has to be oxygen and a drawn out continuous effort on your part ex. treadmill for approx 30 min. Now, don't get me wrong, basketball is an awesome workout, but for your needs, basketball maybe to anaerobic. And my guess is you'll be mostly shooting around, unless your lucky and your gym has enough people there for a serious game of full court at 5 in the mornin. But to make a long story short, if you wish to get rid of the love handles try to make your date with the treadmill, then shoot around afterwards. But if basketball is the love of your life and you keep up a continuous effort(never stand around to much) then by all means hit the court.:cool:
