Cardio Needed?

Is cardio neccesary when trying to gain mass, i mean new muscle and not fat? Like should I only do 2 days a week of cardio, 1? I heard cardio = makes you a smaller version of what you are. And i'm small already. any help? Also, I've been doing like 200 pushups a night, and 200 pullups a throughout the day. Is there anything wrong with this in addition to my regular lifting? I'm noticing how cut up i am getting, but like this is fine right? Thanks.

I can barely get 15 up there
as far cardio goes, 2 cardio sessions (30 - 40 min) each sounds ok...you'll loose more fat if its first thing in the mourninig and you won't sacrifice muscle if that's what your worrying about.

The extra pullups and situps throughout the day can lead to overtraining. Remember, to gain mass, you have to go heavy and get adequate rest. Pick three to four exercises and keep your reps between four and eight. Use the big four for the basis of your workout: 1) Bench 2) Squat 3) Military Press and 4) Deadlift. I do cardio when I feel it is necessary. I have no set schedule or particular rule of thumb. Also, if you want mass, eat 5-6 meals a day and get a lot of quality protein. Whey protein supplemental drinks can help you acheive this goal. I worked my back heavy and hard on Sunday. I don't want to even think about doing chins. That is the thing to shot for when going for mass.

Well I find that the intensity i use, is fine. i go from 12 to 6. anyways, theres nothing wrong with 200 pushups, situps a day, just cut me up more right? btw, pushups will cut your back and chest up right? I still work out as i always did, i've just been noticing my chest and back are like really cut. And i do like 20 pullups here, 20 pull ups there, not 200 at once. at my job, theres like this bar just hanging there, so when it's empty i just rip out like 5 sets of 20, then do some to make it 200 a day.

The only way to be "cut" is low body fat percentage. Weight training (i.e. pushups and situps) will only change the package underneath the fat. If you think you are looking more "cut", then you have probably dropped some bodyfat. If your goal is size, I would drop all of the extra reps. Why not just do 50 situps holding a 25 or 45lb plate. Strap on some weight and do some pullups. My goal is muscular size and definition. That is why I would never go at it the way you are. There is nothing "wrong" about your program, it just depends on your goals.

Wrong, You are working your chest, triceps, back and biceps everyday. How do you expect to make great gains? You need to work each muscle group once a day. However, doing the situps everyday shouldn't hurt. If your not making decent gains well, you now know where to clean up your act.
