Cardio or Weights?

I am really confused about what should I do more - cardio or weights? My main objective is to reduce fat and become slim and trim. I do not wish to have big sized muscles. Some say that cardio is best for reducing fat and some say weights are also important (as metabolism will be high and fat will burn even when I am resting etc...)

I am thinking about mixing cardio and weights.
I exercise 5 times a week in PM. 1 to 1.5 hours a day.
How should I plan my workout? How much time should I spend on cardio and how much on weights? What should go first - cardio or weights?

Thanks in advance,
Prox

Here is what I do,

1. Weights first 1-1.5 hours.(one-two muscle groups per day)

2. Cardio for 30 mins at a high Heart Rate.

lets put it like this, just because you lift weights doesn't guarantee big muscles. People struggle at hours for the gym to increase their muscle mass and size. Doing high rep sets at lower weight will build lean muscle mass instead of bulky muscle mass. You should do this. People constantly think that if they lift weights their muscles will become large overnight. The people that I see in the gym that actually ARE "large" are the ones that have been lifting so long, or lifted in college football P.E. if you know what I mean.

Lift on M W F & do cardio on T Th

sign up for the 3 day program for the lifts

don't for get to watch your diet

if you have to do both Weights first but it is best to do on different days

Are you female?? if so don't worry about bulking up unless you decide to take something to make you do that

Nice post Reddy

Yep, men work very, very hard trying to bulk up and many cannot do it! You do not have the testosterone.

It's gotta suck being a girl that wants to get big but doesn't have the testosterone to do so.
