Hi, I am a 17 year old that is 145 pounds, 5'9". I am trying to gain some muscle weight. I do an intense workout 4 times a week but i am not sure about how much cardio i should do if i am trying to gain weight. I am pretty fast but i get tired quickly and i want to improve that but i dont want to lose weight, how much cardio should I do?

Welcome to ft.

If you are trying to gain weight you want to keep cardi oto a minimum.
For cardiovascular health, 20 minutes 3 times a week is thought to be sufficient, plus newer studies have shown that weight lifting has a positive impact on cardiovascular health.

If you want to improve your speed - try mixing sprint work into your cardio.

hello , i am 15 and 5"1 and weigh 11 stone , i want to do everything i can to lose wieght and i have my will power giht up now and i am willing to do lots of excersise but i dont know what to do , when or how often , i dont even know an example of a cardiovascular excersise.. PLEASE help me

p.s please dont reply with all that stuff about being too yound , i need help!

Hey zoe, The thing with fat loss is a simple equation. Burn more calories than you take in. Cardio is an exercise that boosts up your heart rate, i beleive, anyway i lost 50 lbs in 5 months by cutting out starches, sugar, caffeine, and i ran everyday. Dont have to run long all the time just make sure its no less than 15 mins a time. Keep your diet in good and youll see the lbs come off. I may be totally wrong but hey it worked for me.
