Hey guys, first off let me say thanks to everyone that has helped me so far... Im 5 weeks into my diet/exercise program and i'va already lost 45 lbs and my "love handles" are gone. This is the single most exciting thing i've done in years.

I want to add a treadmill to my home gym but the cost is somewhat prohibitive. Do the treadmills that lack a motor (just a track on wheels) prohibit me from doing a "proper" HIIT workout. I know I rely on the machine to MAKE me do my intensity levels to meet my HIIT goals, but I was wondering if you guys have any feedback on this type of device.

Thanks again in advance.

I think the capability to do inclines is probably more important than having a motor or not. I personally prefer elliptical trainers or stationary bikes to treadmills...low in impact.

Just my 2 cents...

What about running outdoors, is that an option? I'm not familiar with that kind of machine, sorry.

I would say - get the no-motor treadmill. They make you work harder anyway - since the belt isn't moving for you. As far as your HIIT - I would get a heart rate monitor and do your intervals based on your heart rates. There's a guy on ebay that sells them - this one I got and it works great for how cheap it is!
