I am a 33year old woman. I had open heart surgery as a child and although the major errors were corrected I still have a hole between the lower two chambers of my heart. This causes poor circulation, lowered oxygenation of my blood, etc. I need to lose 25 - 30lbs per doctors orders. A few years ago I lost that much by walking 3 miles (in 45 minutes) 5 days a week. However, this caused too much strain on my heart. I stopped, gained the weight back and now have to lose it again. I'm afraid of doing too much cardio again and was wondering if I began weight training if I could lose the weight. I know I'd have to start slow but I have to do something.
I would love any advice you have on the matter!
Weight training will help burn calories and will result in fat loss.
First, what clearance from your doctor do you have to do these activities?
i am not being a smart A$%, but I'm skepticle of you having a problem
I do congratualte you on wanting to make the good changes.
