first of all, casein is found in dairy products like cottage cheese, right? But does it also come in powder form to mix with? if so, can you take a casein shake on an empty stoach to give you the slow release of protein till your next meal? And i also read that mixing flax oil with whey makes it suitable to drink on an empty stomach.....why is that? and how much flax oil should you add? (sorry for all the questions)

Yes, you can use casein to slow digestion. It actually gels in the stomach before digestion, thus providing a prolonged release of amino acids into the bloodstream. Casein is also very high in glutamine. The downside is it is not as high in BCAA's as whey protein. So, in a pinch, I guess this would be alright. This would be a very good nightime protocol. You of course are always better off getting a whole food meal in. The slow release will be just that, very slow and small amount. If it is hydrolized, it will become a "fast protein". So be careful here.

Mixing flax oil is good, usually best later in the day. YOur body metabolizes fats best at this time. If dieting, I would opt for my fats with veggies and protein from late afternoon on. As far as amount, you will have to factor that from your calorie macros.
