I have a question regarding the combination of creatine and Gatorade.
I have seen on several post that this in supposed to be a very good combination for aiding in the bodies absorption of creatine. I have also seen many places that citric acid destroys creatine.
I have been mixing my creatine/Gatorade drinks in the morning so I can take them to work and have them ready as soon as I get out and can workout.
Is the citric acid in some Gatorade (lemon-lime for instance) going to destroy the creatine by the time I drink it? I usually consume the "after workout drink" about 10 hours after I mix it.

The citric acid isn't really your biggest problem, but the nature of creatine itself is. Creatine is very unstable in water, and changes to the useless byproduct creatinin fairly quickly. You should try to drink your creatine mix as soon as possible after mixing it. I carry my dry creatine in little tupperware "pillboxes" and combine it with water right after my workout. Good luck!

Thanks, I had suspected that the creatine was breaking down on its own, but I couldn't find any proof online about it.
How about the citric acid? It that still a factor, or is the amount in Gatorade negligible enough to not be worried about?

Citric acid has a negative side effect on creatine. It speeds up the formation of creatinin. It also tends to lead to upset stomachs when taken when taken with creatine. If you doubt me take a serving of creatine with a cup or so of orange juice, your stomach will probably end up feeling pretty nasty. Or atleast mine always did when I mixed the 2.
