ive started workin out around a month ago and it was really hard 2 get in2 a pattern, especially eatin healthily cuz im so addicted to junk food. But in replacement of chocolate bars im eatin cereal bars. i eat about 2 a day or so just 2 keep me going. i was wondering if this is healthy? i dont eat the kiddie ones with all the sugar and stuff, i eat stuff like kellogs chewy with honey, oat and raisin, or a cranberry and almond feaster bar. is this healthy, as like say...a couple of cereal bars incase i miss lunch, especially if im trying 2 build muscle? please help

Umm, how much sugar in those 'non-kiddie' ones? You would be better off eating a protein/carb bar or real food. I often chop up protein bars to eat like m&m's, it satisfies my sweet tooth and the protein fills me up more.

If they contain any ingredients that end in "ose" as in fructose etc, corn syrup, these are sugars and defeat the purpose. Also watch out for the hydrogenated crap!

Is that 30g per 100g, or per bar? And how much does the bar weigh?
I only use cereal bars when I'm cycling and looking for basically pure carbs - most of them are far too high in sugar to be healthy at other times, although they are often marketed as "healthy"
If you are looking for something to "keep you going", there are much better options, like protein bars, tuna sandwich, scrambled eggs, nuts, etc.

i think the 30g is per 100g. And it contains glucose...but isnt that good? isnt glucose the type of sugar your muscles use for energy..or something like that?
As for these protein bars...im not sure where to get them, and are there any specific brand names? (btw i live in the UK so brand names from anywhere else would be useless)

sugars are good if your doing endurance exercise (>90 minutes) or immediately after exercise for recovery, but at other times they are not good, because they are too quickly absorbed - what you want at other times are things which will give you a slow trickle of energy into your bloodstream.
You will get protein bars in the same places I said you can get protein powders, in the other post :)
