I'm bout ot purchase me some 5/8 in chains hopfully ti will help some of my lifts.

Question though, are chains just restriceted to dynamic days....or can they be done on max effort?

I was reading some stuff on west side.....and I see them using chains on some lifts on ME days......and in highschool we used them on heavy days?

I've used thenm on ME days. As a matter of fact, thats how i started using them, while lifting with the BFS program. Its tough, cuz on a max attempt, your going to find yourself struggling the whole way up, because you wont have any momentum to help get the weight up. You may find the lockout becomes much more difficult.

I use them on both days. I throw them in every 6-9 weeks for 1-3 weeks worth of training. Bands and chains are great but they will tear you down quick because you can handle more weight than what you are used to with just straight weight. They up the intensity and you have to pay attention to what your body is telling you. Make sure you have the small chain to set them up properly on the bar. If you don't know what it looks like then go to elite fitness systems and check out their exercise bank. They have pictures of the proper set-up for both chains and bands.

when im doing westside, i usually only use them on 1 ME movement, and then do 2 movements without them. As in, ill do flat bench with chains for 2-3 weeks, then when I change ME exercises, say to floor press or board press, I wont use them, but will rotate them in again after a couple cycles.
