Happy Monday everybody!
Here's the question: I've been bringing my calorie intake up so I can lose weight. I started out at 800 calories per day and I've spent the last two weeks with a daily average of 1167 calories, 30.25g fat, 121.95g carbs, 107.23g protein, tweaking constantly to acheive 40/30/30. As you can see, it's still out of balance. According to the fitday tracker, I'm burning 2500 calories per day. I know I need to increase my calories again, what I don't know is by how much. I'm walking a 17 minute mile 3 times a week and can make it through 3 sets of toning/weight loss program on ft which I do 3 days a week. I'm working so hard at doing this right and today I'm a bit discouraged. I don't cheat on my diet at all and I do what I'm supposed to every day. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

It sounds to me as if you are doing pretty much what you need to be doing. You have taken some pretty solid steps toward meeting your fitness goals. A 17 minute mile is pretty respectable and your lifting routine (from ft) is a good one to follow. The diet part is definately THE toughest part of your regimen. It is a constant tweaking for most. I have been at this over a year and I am constantly making slight changes as my knowledge increases. My suggestion is to stick with it. Continue to make changes as necessary. Set some short-trm goals to help you on your way. Have you noticed any changes? Are you drinking adequate water? How do you feel? I think you have made good progress! It's a lifestyle so be patient.

I'm feeling much better, not hunched over all the time, more energy, the dark circles under my eyes are lightening up. I'm drinking 60-80 oz of water a day and I do look better. I know that everyone gets discouraged and I'm grateful for the support. I was ready to quit eating today but I'm shoving the calories, even though I don't them.

It takes time for your body to adjust but believe me, it will. The body is an amazing thing! Be patient. If you feel better, have more energy, and are looking better (complexion can tell alot) then that alone should be worth the effort. Judging by your profile you need all the energy you can get.

Sometimes I think for us women having a positive attitude is hard. At least it is for me. When I mess up I tend to beat myself up for a long time and then get into the 'nothing ever works for me anyway'. It helps that I get constant kudos and support from the people at the gym and from my husband. That helps me to keep my mind in a positive frame instead of a negative one. And I have said on here before that it is very hard to eat more to lose weight when all your life you have done the opposite. You are doing great anni! Keep moving forward.

Hang around here anni, EVERYBODY needs encouragement. This is a great place to get it. The longer in the tooth I get the more I need. Try to look at it for the long haul. Nothing will happen fast enough to suit. It never does. But hang in there. Keep tweeking the diet and lift heavy. We will help you. ...You better help me too. LOL
