I was wondering if there was a big enough difference between barbell bench presses and dumbell presses to continue to indue gains. I have been doing all barbell incline, declline, and flat bench for about a month now and want to switch it up. I plan on switching to dumbells for a month then dumbell flyes and back to barbell. Do you think this is a good plan or should i go flyes then dumbell presses

switch it up - dumb bells force you to balance the weight individually and work harder.

I have been doing 4 sets of dumbell flat press, 4 sets of bumbell incline, 3-4 sets of dumbell decline, and 3-4 sets of machine flyes. My question is, what would I be getting by substituting my dumbell excercises with barbell? Does it work differerent areas?

Using Dumbbells really forces your muscles to stablize the weight and works the stabilizing muscles more than say barbell exercise. You get more range of motion with Dumbbells, and can really work the surrounding muscles that support the bigger ones. Hope this helps. Take Care!
