Hi people, My problem is the shape of my chest ;) I need (as most of us) to "pump" the upper chest area, cause I want to look more thick when you are watching from the side. How can I achieve that??? I will realy appreaceate any opinion. I do some exercises for upper chest but it doesnt look to change the shape :( Thanks in advance

You are right on the upper chest movements. You may incorporate lower chest exercises. Research has shown that things like declines actually recruit more fibers than flat benches. I personally found that when I added heavy dips, I finally got that thicker lower chest look. Dips are not only for triceps, if you do them correctly. For chest, you want to lean in and concentrate on the lower portion of your chest. The heavier the better. I strap an 80 lb. dumbbell around my waist and do 5 sets of 10. I have gone up, but there is a point where you kind of lose it if you do too much weight(the feel). And then, the other not so thought of key is thickening of the back! This will go a long way to making your chest look thicker. I find bent over barbell rows, heavy as you can go with good form, hands in about shoulder width(if you go too far out, you involve arms too much). Stand on a small platform of some type when performing these. Really aids in getting you bent over with correct form. Good luck to you..

To gain mass in your upper chest try doing your incline bench press and incline flys first in your routine. It never hurts to change things up a little bit.

Thanks for your advices! I usualy do incline bench,normal bench,fly normal & incline, some machines for inside chest. I think my low chest is prety good..and its quite big where is the outer chest.....I realy missing the upper chest to look better,cause now I look "flat" ;) and doesnt look nice cause I have big biceps and shoulders :(

Take a good look at your form when doing the exercises, it is very importan that it is perfect, even if you have to lower the weight. Make sure you feel a good stretch at the same time when you do the flys. You might want to substitute pullovers on the odd workout.

i suggest you try incline presses with dumbells, as against a bar. i have found this to be effective - go for low reps, as heavy as possible...i suggest 3 sets of 6 reps of the heaviest you can manage. all the best.

is there an alternative to incline exercises that hits the upper chest? my bench doesn't incline :(

According to Arnold, you really should do bench presses with a slight incline--will recruit all the chest fibers. Das how I do my dumbell bench press. Really makes a difference in the burn.
Kagean, just put a cinder block under the head-side of the bench ;-)
