chin up help

i've been weight lifting for about all my life im 21. I played football in high school and i've always been overwieght i weigh 306 right now that a drop of 50 in 6 months. my problem is i just have never got the hang out the chin up. i'm fairly strong in other lift i just can't get those chin ups down ne ideas are welcome
