I have been eating cinnamon a lot lately with different foods that I will not say because I think that people will think of me as a weird person. My question and concerns about cinnamon is if it has any nutritional information? I use lots of it and I was just wondering if this, in the long run, will slow down or halt my health and fitness goals. Thanks in advance for all responses.

Believe it or not it tastes really good lightly sprinkled on a steak just prior to grilling. Add a little ginger and it's even better. :)-------------- Mike in Pensacola Now. |

haha! I add cinnamon to my chicken and egg whites. (that's what I didn't want anyone to know) Adding it to the meat is pretty much the same thing.

Cinnamon also "kills" the taste of flaxseed oil.

Another good recipe using cinnamon is for chicken pilau. It's a really nice easy recipe to throw together when you can't be bothered with a huge amount of effort.
Ingredients 1 Chicken Breast 1 small onion, thinly sliced 1 clove of garlic, crushed 1 teaspoon turmeric 1/2 cinnamon stick 1 teapoon of hot chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon of cumin seeds low Calorie Spray oil 1 cup of rice (literally a teacup of rice) 1 pint of chicken stock Spray a frying pan with the oil and fry the chicken until the meat is sealed. Add meat to pan with all of the other ingrients and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve. -------------- Homer? An easy way to get the benefits of green tea and cinammon in one dose is to brew up a cup of green tea, and put a tsp. of cinamon in the water while heating it. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |
