I was tryin out some of the exercises that were listed for the 12 week program, and I'm finding some difficulty with the close grip presses. When i do them, it really hurts my wrists, can anyone tell me if there's something obvious that i could be doing wrong. Any help would be great, thanx.

Your wrists may obviously be weak for the weight you are trying to press. Close grips can be difficult. The first thing that may help you is form, do not allow your wrists to bend backward. Have about a 9-12 width, and keep your wrists straight with your forearms all the way throug the lift. If you can't do this, then drop back on the weight some. Incorporate wrist curls into your workouts, this will greatly increase your wrist strength. One way is to take a dumbbell and being seated on a bench at the edge, have it in your hand with wrist just extended over the kneecap. Now, let the d.b. roll to your fingertips, and then curl it back with your wrist. Do 10 reps with a weight you can handle, and switch to the other wrist. Do 3 sets of these a couple times per week. Good to do on bicep/forearm days. It is not uncommon if you are just starting to have weak wrists and grip. They will strengthen, don't worry.

great, thanx alot. That definately makes alot of sense. I had my hands probably about 10 inches apart, but I'm sure it's just that my wrists are weak. Thanx again

Because I was putting so much weight on the squat, bench, and all other wrist prone exercise so quickly...getting them stronger wasn't working quick enough and I had to invest into a good pair of wrist wraps till they caught up...you can get a good pair through Inzer.
