hi.
when it's cold i struggle to go outside and go for a run. i'm just looking for some tips on ways to make it easier and what you guys do when it's cold. i don't have access to a treadmill or gym so my only option is to go outside.

Hi,

Some things to think about would be, go to an inside facility like a mall and walk. I know it seems like only old people do it but honestly its dry inside and before you know it you'll have walked 1 hour. Other ways of cardio would be tapes with cardio attached to them. Or even jogging in place. That seems odd but do it and you'll see it does have some advantages. Lastly do a weight training set and burn some calories if you're not up for any of the above. Hope it helped.

Stay well hydrated, a lot of people avoid this due to the cold and don't realize their throats and mouths still get dried out.

Wear a scarf or hankerchief made of wicker material if possible and cover your nose and throat.

Not sure to what degree of cold you get, but if it is a choice between running on ice or snow, choose the snow.

Run slower than you would in normal conditions and shorten your running strides and invest in some good trail shoes, regular running shoes won't work.

Good luck!
