I started the rock hard challenge program and I think its good but I showed the instructor at the gym, he’s been weight lifting for 25 years and he says the program isn’t any good because you only train one muscle group once a week, which I thought was what you were meant to do, I’m all confused, help.
Thanks.

There are many training protocols, as many as you can dream of. This program is neither right or wrong, it is what works for you. After you finish this program, change things up with a different one, such as more frequency. This is the biggest key, change.

Everyone has their own opinion on what works and what doesn't. Frequency and rep scheme are some of the variables you can manipulate to get further results and avoid plateaus.
maybe the instructor at the gym has never had good results from such a protocol, but that doesn't mean he can generalize and say it won't work for anyone.
This type of split is what got me into shape.
