I hope someone can help me with this. I have bought several different protein powders in the last year and have found the scoop/measurements to be confusing. I was using EAS Soy Protein as I don't do much dairy, and soy has so many other benefits. One scoop serving says 45g for 20g of protein. I seemed to have to use a lot of it in recipes so I looked for on that had more protein per gram. The EAS Whey Protein said one scoop serving is 28.3g for 21g of protein, so I thought great. When I opened it, the scoop is the exact same size as the other one. I have another whey one that says one scoop serving is 45g, but the scoop in there (and I have bought several) doesn't hold 45g, it only holds 1oz which is 28.34g. Now, not only do I feel like I need to weigh all these things myself, but I don't know how to find one with more protein per gram with less bulk by just reading the label. Anyone else notice anything like this? And any suggestions?

Very good question.
The thing with scoops is that they are all the same size from one brand to the next. So why are the numbers different? This is because companies add fillers to the product to add weight, and also the vitamins and carbs are in there. The best way to know what you are getting for your money is to do the math and know the percentage of protein per scoop. Devide the grams of protein by the grams of one scoop. I would say anything over 75% is a good serving. I use one that is 86%.
Hope this helps.
