This is my 2nd week, just after I am happy with my routine, yesterday, I was working my abs with weights, this guy(works there@the gym) he told me that, i shouldnt use too much weight resistance on my abs because i have fat, he said if i do so i will end up with a big hard stomach and not really sexy abs.
I am 130lbs, 30yrs with just-had-a-baby stomach fat. I do cardio tues & thurs & sat, strength training(machine) mon, wed & fri.
Is there any truth in that or? I really dont want a hard big stomach!

None...to be short and sweet. If anything you'll burn more calories due to the resistance.
It is much harder for women to build muscle than men. But if you want a six pack eventually(very hard to accomplish) you'll have to train with resistance(weight). Even if all your looking for is a firm flat tummy, I would stick with the resistance. Good luck!

Its idiots like that that cause those of us that are actually trying to educate people so much extra work.

I'm sorry you have such stupid people working in your gym:surprised: My advice: Do NOT listen to anything else he says. If you have questions or concerns, you have all of us to guide and support you. and keep up the good work:)

well i got a what i like to call "3 pack" after doing 400 situps for 14 days. didnt eat healthy you know cause i am 16 i eat whatever, i mean i didnt eat unhealthy so... but yea so it dosnt take too long for different types of people. Now i have a 6 pack after a month of doing 400 situps every day! a small but painful price to pay!

i dont want to down you beach, but i wouldnt recommend that anyone do 400 sit ups a day.......on my hard ab days i do 150 total reps........i use resistance becuz i am trying to build the actual muscles........it sounds like you got that routine from some magazine...........and i agree that trainers are some of the stupidest ppl around...always do your own research and dont take anyone's word for anythign
