I have one of those Tiger rice cookers.. you know, it's like a white cylinder with flowers on it.
Anyway, it cooks up jasmine rice perfect, but I can NEVER get brown rice to turn out. On the rice pakcages it says to have 3 cups of water for each cup of brown rice, so I do that, but it's still like kinda crunchy and undercooked.
Does anyone know what to do? Do you double cook it or something?

At a certain point it auto switches to keep warm though. I'm wondering, do I just leave it there, or put it back on the cook again? Someone out htere must use one of these

i have a rice cooker at school (i live with 3 asian guys) and heres how we do it.. fill however much rice you want in the cooker, then put your hand in and rest the palm across the rice.. fill the water up until it passes your knuckles. the auto cooker will go until the water is gone, and you will have soft, fluffy rice.. i even impressed my roommates, and theyre the experts!

The top of the knuckle trick works perfectly for white rice...
Brown rice needs alot more water...
Try 2 - 3 knuckles worth.
