On a "normal" cutting diet yes you just put it in your total daily calorie intake.
On a competition diet no personally I wouldn't eat any carbs at all before bed (just proteins and maybe some fish oil...).

hEY sorry if I am being stupid or uninformed...

I have never ate cottage cheese in my life! Recently I have been reading of wonderful new healthy foods and trying them!!

I have a real hard time gaining weight.. so i suck up my ego and try anything.. i used to not even eat any fish and now after about a year i can finally eat tuna out of the can

My question is... How do you eat cottage cheese?? right out of the container? do you mix it with something ? I really dont know...

Also, there are different kinds of cottage cheese... 1% 2% low fat... which one should I eat.. i am trying to gain muscle mass...

one last question.. how much should I eat before bed!!? a couple scoops in a spoon ? a bowl full...

I must sound dumb but never really heard of eating cottage cheese before (i dont even know exactly what it is)

thanks guys

I eat cottage cheese right from the container... I'll add some flax meal to it if it's handy... you can add fruit to it if you'd like too... I like it plain...

Not sure about the 1% or 2% issue... I find there is a major flavor difference in the brand I buy and am a little leery about trying another brand...

No dumb questions there.. some people can't stand the stuff... I think it's awesome...

I can not stand eating it.. Taste nasty to me, so I blend it in a protein shake before I go to bed.. Can't even tell it is in there when I do that...

I love it.. the Fat Free is a little gritty, so I like the 1% or 2% version, if my daily caloric intake allows it. I eat it plain, or I add some Splenda to it.. makes it sweet.. yummy!

I eat no-name 1% right out of the container. I throw a little pepper on there and eat a cup of it.

Well, the kind I buy is 500 ml and a cup is 250 ml, so I eat half of it.

I just tried it last night with 3 strawberries sliced up and some Nutrasweet, I was surprised how good it tasted.

I tried something new last night..
1/2 cup cottage cheese and blended it smooth.. added a cup of skim milk, 1 banana and chocolate protein mix.
Was good for the first cup, then I couldn't drink anymore of it.. too much of a banana flavor for me..
Has anyone else made a shake with cottage cheese?
I'm thinking you can make a nice cheese cake with blended cottage cheese and Splenda as well.. has anyone tried that?
