Sugar free chewing gum works for me. Also drink LOTS OF water (and herbal tea!!) When it's all bad, I go out for a walk with the dog and then force me to think of something else.
Just don't forget that sugar attracts sugar and just one tiiiiny bit of that apple pie will give you the same insulin spike as if you ate the whole pie. SOOOO do your best to stay discipline and if you really need something sweet, eat a fruit.
