creatine users beware; you may want to look for alternative suppliments. My dad caught a study of some sort, or news program, on tv stating that creatine damages the kidneys and may put the kidneys on a road to disfuction.

Old news. That's what all of the anti-sports supplement critics were saying 7 or so years ago when the creatine-craze started. Recent evidence proves otherwise. If you drink enough water it will flush your kidneys of all of the bad stuff that could accumulate over time.
If that report is true, then it should mention a few other things: Extra protein must also be dangerous because it increases the amount of nitrogen in the body, therefore increasing the amount of nitrogenous wastes (ammonia, uric and nitric acids, etc), which can cause kidney damage in higher concentrations. We shouldn't drink too much milk or eat dairy either because all of that calcium will cause kidney stones.

Creatine has been studied constantly, over and over. The kidney problems are old news. Most of the high-protein diet studies out there were done on subjects that already had some sort of renal failure and then the results were chaotically applied to everyone. This may also be true of the creatine study that the news report was referencing. Drink lots of water and you'll be fine.
